Here's a five minute homemade hummus recipe for you.
Avoid the added preservatives and the slight plastic taste from store-bought hummus with this delicious and healthy alternative!
1 15oz can of chickpeas
1/2 cup olive or avocado oil
1-2 gloves garlic, to taste
2-4 Tbsp lemon juice, to taste
1-2 tsp Cumin
Add all of your ingredients to a blender or food processor & blend!
I'm guilty of cooking Italian-style, adding ingredients to taste and veering away from the recipe. So here's the baseline but if you like garlic, add more! If you want some more spice, jack up the cumin. Get creative.
Can add some water to adjust consistency.
Serve with a drizzle of oil on top, a sprinkle of paprika and even some black olives for decor.
